Dental Triage
The on-call dental service is available for advice, assessment and access to treatment (where appropriate) for patients with an urgent dental problem which cannot safely wait until normal in-hours services are available.
Shropshire/Telford & Wrekin Patients:-
Since October 2006, Shropdoc has been working with Shropshire County PCT and Telford & Wrekin PCT to manage and provide triage for all dental Out of Hours emergencies.
All patients have telephone access to call handling and nurse triage for assessment and advice.
The aims for the out of hour's dental service are to:
- provide an out of hours dental service accessible to all local residents and visitors to the PCT areas
- ensure that all patients out of hour's urgent needs are met in an appropriate and timely manner
The PCT Dental service provides Emergency Dental Clinic appointments which are accessed by the triage team each weekend, with an on-call dentist available for advice for a 2 hour period each evening.
Nurse triage, assessment and referral:
18.30 - midnight Mon to Fri
08.00 - midnight Sat, Sun and Bank Holidays
