Staff in Higher risk groups
Some people have been recognised as being at higher risk of complications of Swine Flu. Those who might be working include:
· pregnant women
· those with long term kidney, lung, neurological, liver or heart disease
· those who immunocompromised (because of disease or treatment)
· diabetics
· Severe asthma – where on drug treatment within past three years
Staff in higher risk groups at high risk of complications should not provide direct care to patients with Swine Flu. They should be redeployed if possible to other areas.
Staff must inform their Line Manager of any health risks that may require redeployment.
Line Managers are required to keep a record and inform HR so that staffing can be monitored appropriately.
